What can you do once your qualified?

  • Teach PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver Courses.

  • Teach PADI Adventures and Advanced Open Water.

  • Teach PADI Rescue Diver Course.

  • Teach PADI Divemaster course.

  • Teach skin diver, discover snorkelling, discover local diving, PADI Seal Team and Bublemaker as well as scuba review.

  • Finally you will be able to teach PADI Specialties such as Peak Performance Buoyancy and Project Aware.


What do I need to start the course?

  • Be a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or leadership level with another training organisation.

  • Be 18 years old.

  • Have 60 logged dives that includes documented experience in night, deep and navigation diving. You will need 100 logged dives to take part in the Instructors Examination (IE).

  • Be a certified diver for at least 6 months.

  • Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months.

  • Be a certified Emergency First Response Instructor (not to worry this is included in our full IDC package).

  • Have proof of First Aid and CPR training within the last 24 months.


Required Materials

You will also need a full set of diving equipment which includes exposure suit (7mm or higher), boots, hood, fins, mask, snorkel, BCD, Regs and dive computer. We can rent a full set of equipment to you if needed until you purchase. Contact us for special deals on gear.

You will also need a PADI IDC Crew Pack and EFR Instructor Manual which we can organise for you if needed, upon receiving a deposit. An RDP and ERDP, PADI latest edition of student materials: Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue and Divemaster. All of which can be purchased with us.

What will the course entail?

It is a 10 day course + 2 days for the Instructor Exam (IE).


The course is broken up into three sections:

  • Learning: During this section you will learn about the PADI Educational system and what you will be qualified to teach.

  • Developing: During this section we will develop your skills to instructor standards both in the water and in the classroom.

  • Evaluating: Finally during this section we will evaluate your skill level, dive theory and standards level, teaching skills and professionalism.

Emergency First Response Instructor will be carried out in the middle of the IDC.

  • EFR Pack.

  • Cylinders, air and weights.

  • Transport to and from dive site.

  • All tuition.


Does not include:

  • Registration fee for an Instructor Development Course.

  • Registration fee for an Instructor Exam.

  • Registration for an Emergency First Response Instructor.



PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
