The Inkwells

The Inkwells site historically speaking was the anchorage for vessels re-supplying from the Royal Navy  Victualling Yard.

Whilest re-supplying the Royal Navy would often discard old equipment overboard. Items thrown over board would include plates, glassware, ceramic gin bottles (empty unfortunately), clay pipes and ceramic inkwells hence the name of this site.

This popular dive site can be found in 17 meters of water just west of Rosia Bay.

What can be found on the site:

  • Octopus

  • Cuttlefish

  • Conger and moray eels

  • Nudibranchs

  • Spider crabs and common lobster

  • Wide range of fish species

  • Great photo opportunities

Suitable for all levels of certified diver.
